Biography

Dr. Yogender Malik is a distinguished medical professional, public health strategist, and policy advisor with extensive experience in forensic medicine, medical ethics, public administration, and social development. He currently serves as a Member of the Ethics and Medical Registration Board, National Medical Commission (NMC), Government of India, contributing to the advancement of ethical medical practices and regulatory excellence across the country.A Professor of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology (FMT) at Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women, Khanpur Kalan, Haryana, Dr. Malik has devoted his career to medical education, research, healthcare governance, and evidence-based policymaking. He previously served at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, where he contributed significantly to academic excellence and professional training. Beyond academia, Dr. Malik played a transformative role as Advisor to the Chief Minister of Haryana for the flagship Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign (2015–2020). Under his strategic guidance, Haryana achieved a historic improvement in the Sex Ratio at Birth, increasing from 871 in 2015 to 932 in 2020, marking one of India's most successful gender equity initiatives. He also served as an Advisor to the Swachh Bharat Mission, supporting public health, sanitation, and behavioural change initiatives across the state. An accomplished researcher, author, and editor, Dr. Malik has published numerous scientific papers, contributed chapters to academic books, and served on the editorial boards of reputed medical journals. His scholarly interests include medical ethics, toxicology, women's health, history, and the socio-cultural landscape of North-East India. His lifelong commitment to humanitarian service has been recognised through the prestigious 23rd Bhau Rao Deoras Sewa Samman, honouring his remarkable work in remote and underserved regions of North-East India, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand. He is also a member of the Institute Body of AIIMS Bathinda and several national professional organisations in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. As a Member of the Advisory Board of Yuva and Sewa Foundation (YASF), Dr. Malik provides strategic guidance on healthcare, medical ethics, public policy, women's empowerment, youth development, and community health initiatives. His expertise significantly strengthens the Foundation's mission of building healthier, more informed, and socially responsible communities through service, education, and sustainable development.
