Biography

Prof. Dinesh Kumar serves as the Chief Mentor of Yuva and Sewa Foundation (YASF), bringing more than three decades of distinguished experience in higher education, scientific research, innovation, and academic leadership. A globally respected academician and visionary educationist, he currently serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU), Palwal, after successfully leading prestigious institutions including J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, Faridabad, and Gurugram University as Vice-Chancellor.

An internationally acclaimed researcher, Prof. Kumar earned his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Electronic Materials & Devices from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, laying the foundation for an exceptional academic career spanning over 35 years. His pioneering research in semiconductor devices, thin-film technology, and materials science has resulted in more than 130 internationally published research papers, while mentoring numerous doctoral scholars who continue to contribute to scientific advancement.

Prof. Kumar is the proud recipient of the prestigious Homi J. Bhabha Memorial Award, presented by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to science and technology. He has also been honoured with the Most Eminent Vice-Chancellor Award and the RankBandhu Shiksha Shiromani Samman for his exemplary leadership and remarkable contribution to higher education.

Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Kumar has played a transformative role in strengthening institutional excellence. Under his visionary leadership, universities achieved significant milestones in NAAC and NBA accreditation, improved national rankings through NIRF, expanded research and innovation ecosystems, and strengthened industry-academia collaboration. His commitment to quality education and skill development has inspired thousands of students, researchers, and educators across India.
