KAKRALA, KANINA (MAHENDRAGARH), HARYANA — The Yuva and Sewa Foundation (YASF) marked a significant milestone in its mission of social empowerment on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with the closing ceremony of the first batch (2025–26) of "Samutkarsh – Vidyarthi Protsahan Upkram," a student encouragement initiative held at S.D. Senior Secondary School, Kakrala, Kanina, in Mahendragarh district.


Organised in loving memory of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Samutkarsh programme was launched by YASF to identify and financially support meritorious students from the Scheduled Caste community across Mahendragarh district, encouraging them to pursue their academic goals without the burden of financial hardship. The July 4 ceremony brought together students, parents, community volunteers, and distinguished guests to celebrate the achievements of the programme's first cohort.


Distinguished Guests Lend Their Support

The event was graced by an eminent gathering of guests who lauded the Foundation's continued commitment to education and community service:

Dr. Purushottam Lal, eminent cardiologist and Chairman of the Metro Group of Hospitals, attended as Chief Guest. Widely regarded as one of India's most respected cardiologists, Dr. Lal has been honoured by the Government of India with both the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards.
Dr. Krishna Gopal, Sah Sarkaryavah (Joint General Secretary) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, addressed the gathering as Chief Speaker.
Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Haryana, presided over the programme.


Also central to the day's proceedings were YASF President Shamsher Singh, who extended the invitation to the community, and programme coordinators Dr. Jagdev and Dr. Sunil, who anchored the event's organisation.
